After 1 year of use we've figured some things out...
"Have had this bottle spout for 1 year and plan to use it for our second child when she's old enough. Here's my experiences... Cons: Has very tight crevices and tiny holes so that for those times when you want to get super sterile-scrubbed down you either need dental brushes (we bought them at the drug store, the kind for in-between teeth and braces cleaning), or alcohol to sterilize. I don't personally trust pouring scalding water over any plastic. Another con: the loop has bumped my toddlers nose while sipping but she doesn't seem to mind it. Kleen Kanteen doesn't seem to sell just the plastic spout cover or silicone insert seperately, which is a bummer because our silicone insert turned white after 1 year and we'd like ot replace it. Pros: the stainless steel bottle itself is easy to clean, and it's tought so kids can drop it without worry. If you're not careful when reinserting the silicone insert. it can fall out while in use and leak all over the place, but even my husband's chubby fingers can pop it back in fine. It fits into any cup holder made for baby bottles. Because the nipple is hard my daughter has to do lots of vigorous shaking to get drops out-- we also have a pura water bottle with a silicone (soft) spout, and my daughter figured out how to make it leak just for fun."

"This works great. We bought it to replace the cap we had where the silicon piece that keeps it from leaking had fallen out and been lost. Without that, when my daughter leaves the sippy laying around it leaks all over. We have been very happy with the Klean Kanteen products."
Good but need to be able to replace valves
"As another reviewer noted it's easy for kids to dislodge or blow out the valve inside the cap. Once they're out they're easily lost since they're small and clear. I'm disappointed that I can't just get a replacement valve and have to buy a whole new cap. Which frankly seems pretty wasteful. :("
Great product - replacement parts not possible
"I love these sippy cups. They are easy to clean and dishwasher safe - NEVER a problem with mold (like other dangerous brands). An interior valve makes for easy cleaning; however, the valve does not seem to be replaceable. Originally I contacted KleanKanteen and was told by a man that he would send out three replacement valves for the three sippy cups we purchased through this website (the valve will dislodge if toddler blows air into the bottle or drops the bottle, then said valve is easily lost as was the case here). The follow up call also promised replacement of the valves - complimentary. Nothing. Two follow up calls since both led to voicemail. Neither of voicemail was returned. It wasn't even like I was demanding a new valve... both original calls I made were to purchase entire replacement tops (including the valves) - both customer service agents OFFERED to send the valves to me as a courtesy instead. Had they said I needed to purchase an entire replacement sippy top (with valve) I would have been OK with it, but they offered to make it right - TWICE - and did not follow through. I am very disappointed in the customer service. The product itself is mostly good, when valve stays in place."

Caps work great! but not the best design
"These caps work great. They do occasionally leak on me (when the bottle is upside down in my bag). I do think the handy attachment loop is in a weird place. When my little ones drink from these bottles, their noses are squished by the loop. They don't seem to be bothered by it at all, but I can't imagine it's comfortable. But overall my kids love their bottles and drink from the caps just fine."
Doesn't Leak
"We've enjoyed that this cap doesn't leak and has a dust cover. The clear dust cover is easy to lose, so that it something to keep in mind. My toddler loves drinking out of this cap."
Sturdy and easy to clean
"I love that I can use these on the kanteens and then swap them for a different lid when a sippy is no longer needed. These have worked great for my kids and clean up pretty nicely. Overall, I'm very happy with the sippy lids and that I'm able to use them on a non-plastic cup. I would continue to buy them (if my others wear out!). I didn't give a full five star rating because they are not leak-proof. If left upside down the liquid will drip out. If you put the clear plastic cap on that helps. Again, this does not stop me from being happy with them, but they are not perfect!"
