Impossible to open with hot food inside
"Love all your products, except this one. It works only with cold food, because when you pour something hot (like soup) its impossible to open a lid, absolutely impossible. Love your cups, bottles, thermo bottles and old food canister (only wish was that is bigger) but this one is absolutely only for cold food."

Lid handle needs to be redesigned
"Great design but the lid needs to be redesigned. The metal handle loop of lid that is used to open the container will break off most of the time when being turned. The handle needs to be permanently mounted through the inside of lid. It’s been 3 years and I still have my set and use everyday. Will take some getting used. Overall wouldn’t recommend for kids or anyone that gives up easily as they will go hungry when the lid gets stuck."
Need bodybuilder to open!
"The morning after I had filled the container with hot oatmeal at bedtime and made sure at that point that the lid wasn't too tight to open, I had to take the canister to a local gym and ask a young bodybuilder to open it! Took him three tries. This was 11 hours after filling, and the food was not even warm. I will try again with a smaller quantity of food and a shorter time between filling and eating. Would a release valve solve the problem in a new design?"

- What is the material inside the lid? Is it plastic?
- Hello, Thank you for contacting Klean Kanteen. Klean Kanteen products are made from 18/8 food-grade stainless steel which is safe, durable, BPA- Free and lead free. The food canister lid is made from Polypropylene #5 and does not contain BPA or BPS. In addition, PP5 has high heat tolerance and will not break down or leach chemicals like other plastics do. There is a removeable gasket that covers the base of the lid made from medical grade silicone.
